Jessica is a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS), author, and grief specialist. She has written four children’s books: The ABCs of Grief, The ABCs of Grief: Emotions & Feelings, The ABCs of Grief: Coping, and Forever Connected: a book for bereaved siblings.
Jessica has been a CCLS since 2008. The first 14 years of her career were spent in the hospital setting at Johns Hopkins All Children’s Hospital, Johns Hopkins Children’s Center, and GBMC. Over the years, she worked in pediatric ICUs, the emergency department, inpatient units, and surgical centers. Jessica has a BA in Education of Young Children, a minor in Psychology, and a MS in Healthcare Administration and Community Health.
She is the founder and owner of Kids Grief Support, a private practice providing therapeutic sessions to grieving children and families across the globe through expressive activities, developmentally appropriate diagnosis and grief education, and other support to aid in processing and coping with various grief experiences. Jessica also collaborates with businesses and individuals creating children’s grief materials or programming for content expert consultations. Jessica has worked within her private practice since January 2022.
